Google Chat
Post test failures to a space through an incoming webhook.
Google Chat uses a separate webhook for each project. Operio sends one message per failed test case with the project, case, environment, failure summary when available, and a result link.
Set up a webhook
- In the Google Chat space, open Apps & integrations and create an incoming webhook.
- Copy its URL. Treat it as a secret: anyone with it can post to the space.
- In Operio, open Settings → Integrations → Google Chat and click Set webhook.
- Paste the URL and save. Operio sends a welcome message to verify it.
- Under Settings → Notifications, check that the master switch and Google Chat are enabled.
No team-level connection is needed. The URL is stored encrypted and is not returned in full after saving.
Test, change, or remove
Use Test on the Google Chat card to send a welcome message. Configure verifies and saves a replacement URL. Remove deletes only this project's webhook.
To pause alerts while keeping the webhook, turn Google Chat off under Notifications.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Check |
|---|---|
| Setup or Test fails | Confirm the incoming webhook is valid and has not been revoked. Create a replacement if needed. |
| No failure messages | Check this project's webhook and both notification switches. |
| Unrelated project alerts appear | Those projects may use the same webhook. Change or remove it in each project that should post elsewhere. |
